Pick-Me Girl Shames Best Friend's Girlfriend For Liking Taylor Swift, Claims She's Not 'Intellectual' Enough For Him

Back in the day, we used to shame ourselves for liking girly things. We wanted to stand out to guys we were interested in by being different than other girls, but as we got older, we realized how toxic this mindset can be. We were molding ourselves into being something we weren't just so we could be one of the guys. Thankfully, we finally realized we weren't being true to ourselves, and what kind of life is worth living if we're not being true to ourselves? We know that sounds corny, but it's true. Being girly is awesome, and we should embrace the girly sides of ourselves. Even if some of us don't have a girly bone in our bodies, we still shouldn't shame other women for having feminine interests. In today's 'Nice Girls' post, OP is a woman who has a lot to learn when it comes to supporting women with other interests. The story was originally shared on the 'Am I The A$$hole?' subreddit, but got taken down by the moderators for unknown reasons. Before we get into this story, we cannot stress enough how important it is for women to be there for other women. If we're not there for our sisters, then who the heck will be? Women who don't follow the girl code are women we steer clear of. We're not interested in being friends with someone who puts male validation before their own friendships. In this particular story, OP is clearly into her male best friend who is dating someone else, which is why she feels the need to shame the other woman for having girly interests. She's obviously just jealous, and everyone sees it.

OP is way too involved in their relationship. Yes, we appreciate honesty from our best friends, but at the end of the day, we're adult enough to make our decisions on our own. Feedback from our friends is something we value but after we hear what they have to say, we're ultimately gonna go ahead with what we decide is right for us. Real friends would support our life choices. If OP's best friend feels comfortable supporting his girlfriend financially, then that's his decision to make. OP shouldn't be involved in the arrangement he decided works for him, and she seriously needs to back up stat.
